I still remember what my political science lecturer, Mr. Munisparan, said on his first lecture. He asked, “What is the most important thing in this world?” He asked each and every one of us. He received myriad of answers. Love… Money… Name… Politics… Education… etc…
None of the answers given are correct or near to one. Frustrated he bellowed, “The answer is POWER!”
In the quest to seek power, a lot of heinous deeds have been done. The human history is littered with such instances. All over the world, betrayal, deception, murder etc are committed just for the sake of power.
Machiavelli must be smiling in his grave.
If only I am able to attend his lecture once again, I will respectfully disagree. I will say that power is not the most important thing… LIFE is.
